SciNote is an electronic laboratory notebook platform that allows one to manage projects, teams, inventories, protocols, and general lab notes. There is a bit of a learning curve, but support is provided for those that opt to purchase yearly licenses.
Slack is a chat tool that lets you communicate easily with your team members. Slack apps are available for most devices and laptop/desktop computers. Data and papers can also be shared by using this platform, and there are integrations with numerous other apps.
Ordering items for your lab is greatly simplified by using Quartzy. Lab members request items, automated e-mails are sent to those in charge of ordering, and items are ordered if approved. This is a great tool for keeping everyone in the loop regarding a requested item's status.
Trello provides a really nice way to create and share to-do lists with a team using a card-based system. Tasks can be added by any users that have permission to modify a given card. Setting up user privileges is straightforward. There are many cool things that can be done with Trello, and the standard version is free!
Google Drive provides an easy way to share and store items with members of your lab. It also enables the generation of Google sheets (spreadsheets), docs (documents), and other types of files that can be shared and edited in real-time with those that share the files. The Doble Lab uses the Google Suite of online tools extensively.
